Dearest mommies, just like breastfeeding, swaddling takes a little time and effort to master.  Here are a few tips to getting that perfect swaddle fit:

1. Make sure you swaddle extra tight

2. The 'wings' in the final step should be wrapped along the ELBOWS, not below or too close to the neck

3. Have fun making the bow your own: a full bow, half bow or a knot

GROW WITH US (Arms in - 0 to 6 Months)

Lay the swaddle out flat on a soft surface. Place baby centered at the top of swaddle. The swaddle edge should be right above shoulder level.
Grab the top right corner of swaddle and bring across baby's body. Be sure to straighten baby's arm while covering. Tuck corner snuggly under baby's bottom.
Now grab the top left corner and bring across to the right, once again straightening out the baby's arm and tucking under baby's bottom.

The bottom of the swaddle now forms a mermaid-like tail, take each corner of the tail and bring it up to frame slightly below shoulders. *This is an important step, the secret to a perfect swaddle is to wrap at the elbows snugly.

While still pinching the bottom corners of the 'mermaid tail' criss-cross behind baby's back, try to keep both tails similar in size.

Take remaining 'wings' and tie a bow. Voila, the gift of a sleeping baby.
